My writing theory statement can be communicated as a source to let everything out and lay it all on the table to the best of your ability, no matter the difficulty.
My name is Tanesha Duffy. I'm 22 years old. I was born and raised in Chester, PA. I speak English and a small amount of Spanish, which will be one of my electives here as well. I have a high school diploma and a diploma from a trade school called All State Career for Medical Assisting. DCCC is my third round of education and THIS time it's for nursing which is going to take a while.
I'm currently a Certified Medical Assistant full time for the Crozer Keystone Health Network and I've been in the medical field for roughly 4 years now. My hobbies are pretty much watching Netflix with my boyfriend, shopping, and going out to eat when I'm not busy with school work. I don't have any pets but I really like dogs so I'd definitely want one in the future.
I don't read or write as much but my favorite composer would have to be Ne-Yo. He's very talented and he writes songs for so many artists plus his own that I personally can connect to.
Mostly my writing is enacted through social media and text messages. I don't do too many letters and definitely am not a fan of poetry (sorry to all the poets out there). I text all day everyday so that's when writing happens for me frequently.
I write when needed. Meaning for school or also for work. I often have to write things for work, like letters to send to patients, signs, etc.
I write in my bed when I'm doing anything pertaining to school or when I'm texting. It's usually on my laptop or phone, and work computer. Before I write I like to think about what I'm going to write about first, then I get it written down.
Why do I write? For the sole purpose of school assignments. I'm no "author-in-the-making" or anything like that. When I need to vent I don't write it down, I just talk to someone about what's bothering me instead (if I don't keep it bottled up)
My past experiences with writing weren't really the best, I was uninterested and because of this, this has made me dislike writing. Doing the narrative (which is our memoir) and research project for this course should help bring out my author identity because I get the chance to write about something that is important to me and I get to choose the topic of what I want to write about which is definitely interesting and grabs my attention.
